SUPPLIES FOR THE BRITISH . ARMY. (Recd This Day, 11 a.m.) LONDON, May 17. In the House of Commons, Mr L. Hore-Belisha (Secretary for War), said the extra cost of providing the Army with home-killed meat instead of meat from the Dominions in the year 1937-38 would have been £439,000. Mr H. Day (Labour); “Does the Minister agree that the health of the. troops could be improved by eating British fresh meat instead of imported meat?” Mr Hore-Belisha: “I don’t think the Health of the troops could be improved.”
