BOXING

TWO PROFESSIONAL CONTESTS IN DUNEDIN By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 16. A full house in the Town Hall this evening saw a double professional bill presented by the Otago Boxing Association that provided plenty of action. Stan Jenkin (Oamaru), defeated Clarrie Marshall (Gisborne). Jenkin took qharge of affairs towards jthe middle of the bout and won convincingly.

A ten-round match between lightweights, Jim Mitchell (Christchurch), and Len Greany (Dunedin), was a non-stop affair for nine rounds, Mitchell kept his man all the time and, althought he absorbed a lot of punishment in the middle rounds, he knocked Greany down in the ninth round and had him very groggy when the referee stopped the bout in his favour.
