WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING MR W. JAMES WINS ARCHER CUP. Some good sport was witnessed at the Wairarapa Coursing Club’s meeting at Akura on Saturday. The Archer Cup (Open) was won by Mr W. James (Masterton) with The Clipper and the Maiden Stakes for the Vincent Trophy went to Mr W. L. Jensen (Carterton) with Helen Rufus. Following are the detailed results: — Archer Cup (Ope*h). First round: Mr W. L. Jensen (Carterton), Lady Hurley beat Mr W. James (Masterton), Dainty Footsteps, 6J/1. Mr W. James (Masterton), The Clipper beat Mr J. Ryan (Masterton), IJ/0. Messrs Butcher Bros. (Greytown), Why Hurry beat Mr D. Grimwood (Masterton), Roy, 11/1. Mr J. Crawford (Carterton), Jeanne beat Messrs Archer Bros. (Carterton), IJ/1.
