WOMEN’S DIVISION
MEETING AT FEATHERSTON The monthly meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held on Friday afternoon, Mrs Wakely (president) presiding over a fair attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Arch. Clark, Tutbury, Lowell, McKenna, Brandon and Bladen. There were several visitors from Carterton present, and an invitation was received for members to attend Sfhe Birthday Party of the Carterton Branch, which was accepted. Remits to the annual conference to be held at Wellington were discussed. The visitors gave an interesting talk on Garden Circles, and it was decided to form one in Featherston.
Mesdames Wakely (president), Sadler (secretary), Donald (treasurer) and members present were formed into a committee, with power to add to their number, for the Garden Circle, further consideration of which was left over till next meeting. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Charles, Cundy and Holland.
