CHURCH SERVICES

At the Kuripuni Methodist. Church tomorrow, the Rev C. H. Skuse will forward the subject, “The Church and the Kingdom,” at 11 a.m. This is in opposition to the popular argument that the church is ineffective, bent only on a self-centred appeal to the emotions, and not in providing substantial proof and conviction of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The evening topic will be “Attaining Christian Perfection.” Plans showing means of living victoriously every day will be offered for your consideration. Good hymns, a quartet by the choir, a cheery welcome and warm fellowship will help all to worship with conviction. “The Birth and Life of the Lord Jesus Christ” is the subject from the Wonderful Chart at Ruhamah Gospel Hall tomorrow, at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

An interesting service will be held in the Methodist Church tomorrow evening, when the Rev Fred. J. Parker will have the assistance of several of the young people from the recent Bible Class Easter camps. Mrs Temple White, of Wellington, will speak on the spiritual impressions of the Young Women’s Camp, and Mr Alan Handyside will tell of the Young Men’s Camp. The evening anthem is, “Sweet is the Sunlight,” and the combined young women’s voices will be heard in the favourite camp chorus, “Temper My Spirit.” At the morning service Mr Parker wil speak on “The Intimacies of Jesus” —a study in the fuller life in Christ, and the junior choir will sing “Heralds of Jesus.”
