ALL BLACK SELECTOR
mr e. McKenzie appointed. RESULT OF POSTAL BALLOT. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, This Day. As the result of a postal ballot by members of the council of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr E. McKenzie, Carterton, was yesterday appointed sole selector of New Zealand teams for 1938. Messrs E. McKenzie (Wairarapa), F. W. Lucas (Auckland), and J. Craig (King Country) were appointed to choose the North Island team and Messrs A. A. Adams (West Coast), R. R. Masters (Canterbury), and A. J. Geddes (Southland) were elected to choose the South Island team for the inter-island match at Wellington on June 11. The appointments were made by the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union. Mr S. S. Dean presided, and others present were Lieuten-ant-Colonel J. G. Roache and Messrs A. McDonald, W. J. Wallace, A. C. Kitto, J. Prendeville, and A. E. Neilson, secretary. It was decided to notify unions that nominations for the inter-island match must be in the hands of the selectors by June 6, and that in each case unions must state whether the players are available for the tour of the New Zealand team to Australia this season, or whether they will be available only for the inter-island match.
