ALARM IN BUCHAREST
SHOT FIRED NEAR KING CAROL FOUND TO BE ACCIDENTAL. PLAIN CLOTHES POLICEMAN JOSTLED. (Recd This Day, 11.45 a.m.) BUCHAREST, May 10. A shot fired near King Carol, during an Independence Day demonstration, caused rumours of his attempted assassination to spread. Inquiries showed that the shot was due to a plain clothes policeman’s revolver being accidentally discharged when he was jostled.
