WRESTLING

BLOMFIELD v. McKAY. “Lofty” Blomfield, who has always been a warm favourite with wrestling enthusiasts in the Wairarapa district, is assured of a rousing welcome when he enters the ring at Masterton on Thursday night in the first local bout of the new season. In the opposite corner will be Pat McKay, a big, tough, and powerful wrestler of the Jack Forsgren type who is determined to reverse the decision which Blomfield gained over him in their'recent memorable encounter in Wellington. Blomfield has been a busy man since he returned from his phenomenally successful overseas tour. Standing over 6ft and weighing nearly 17 stone ,McKay has repeatedly proved that he knows how to give the public what it wants. A blonde giant of Irish-Scotch extraction, he comes from Tennessee and has had about ten years in the sport as a professional. There is scarcely a prominent matmen in North America whom he has not beaten. The box plan is now open and booking is free at W. C. Orange, Masterton, phone 1934, Hughan’s garage, Carterton, phone 53, and “Standard” Office, Greytown, phone 7. The usual prices will be charged.
