“TOPPER.” The sensational comedy “Topper,” will be shown finally tonight at the Regent. An outstanding array of shorts will also be shown. COMING TOMORROW. “DEAD END.” Twenty-four hours of throbbing life in a city street, paved with riches and' poverty, comedy and tragedy, romance and heartaches, thunders across the screen in Samuel Goldwyn’s ■ production of “Dead End,” which begins- a three-day engagement at the Regent Theatre on Wednesday, commencing with a matinee at 2.15. Sylvia Sidney and Joel McCrea are starred at the head of a great cast in this powerful human story based on the stage hit by Sidney Kingsley. Miss Sidney has her greatest role as Drina. McCrea is seen as Dave. Humphrey Bogart plays “Baby Face Martin,” the killer. Claire Trevor plays Francey, Allen Jenkins is seen as Hunk, “Baby Face’s” henchman, and Billy Halop, Gabriel Dell, Bobby Jordan, Huntz Hall, Leo Gorcey and Bernard Punsley the Dead End kids from the original New York stage cast, are seen again.
