MAORI HUIS

POSTPONEMENT ANNOUNCED. (By Telegraph—Press Association). GISBORNE, May 9. Sir Apirana Ngata advises that because of damage to highways and the loss of an important building in the recent storm, the Waiomatatini hui has been postponed indefinitely. This gathering was arranged to mark the rededication of the Porourangi meeting-house, lately moved from its original position to eliminate danger from flooding. Sir Apirana Ngata also advises that the Wairoa hui in honour of Sir James Carroll has also been postponed from late in May to June 15-18 inclusive.
