CEMETERY PROBLEM
♦ CREMATORIUM SUGGESTED. STATEMENT BY MAYOR. The opinion that Masterton should establish a modern crematorium for the sanitary disposal of its dead, was expressed by the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, at question time at last night’s meeting of electors. There were about 140 burials a year in Masterton, he added, and, based on those figures, there were still about 4,510 plots available at the cemetery. He agreed that the aim should be the establishment of a crematorium.
