CONSIDERATION OF RIGHTS OF MINORITIES NATIONALITY STATUTE IN PREPARATION. DEFENCE OF SOVEREIGNTY AND INTEGRITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Copyright. PRAGUE, May 7. The Foreign Minister, M. Krofta, announced that the new nationality statute that the Government was preparing would apply equally to all minorities. “We are making every concession demanded, except any which would in the smallest degree endanger the security of the State or its present frontiers. We, therefore, reject those demands of the Henlein Party which affect our sovereignty and independence which we are determined to defend,” he stated. British and French Ministers separately visited M. Krofta and delivered similar messages, stating that Britain and France were ready to assist to solve the Sudeten question. The messages emphasise that it is expected that a solution can be found compatible with Czech integrity. It is hoped that the most generous possiblle concessions will be granted. ACTION IN BERLIN. EXPRESSION OF BRITISH HOPES. BERLIN, May 8. Sir Neville Henderson, British Ambassador, informed the German Government that Britain hoped that everything would be done to lessen the Czech tension. Ward Price cabled the “Sunday Dispatch” from Rome: —“I understand that Signor Mussolini has neither engaged himself to defend Czechoslovakia nor promised a completely free hand to Germany.”
