DOG TRIALS
CONCLUSION OF MASTERTON CLUB’S MEETING. WINNERS OF SPECIAL PRIZES. The annual trials of the Masterton Collie Club were concluded on Mr G. Shaw’s property, Te Ore Ore, yesterday afternoon in fine weather. The meeting proved most successful, the entries being only slightly less than those received last year. The final event, the huntaway, with which a maiden class was decided in conjunction resulted: —•
Huntaway (open): C. J. McDonald’s (Rangitumau) Highland Laddie, 414 points, 1; G. Kerr’s (Dannevirke), Mac, 41 points 2; G. Speedy’s (Tinui), Flo, 37 points 3; G. Thomson’s (Poroporo). Hinkler, 36j points 4; C. McKay’s (Gladstone), Mac, 34 points 5. Maiden class: C. J. McDonald’s Highland Laddie, 28 points 1; I. Nicol’s (Martinborough), Bess, 26 points 2; G. Speedy’s Flo, 25 points 3; L. Tinsley s (Tinui), Moss, 24 points 4.
