CHURCH SERVICES

The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will feature Mother’s Day in each service. Brigadier Miles, from Wellington, will be the speaker at each gathering, when special addresses will be delivered in conection with the particular theme. The children’s service at 3 p.m. will be most interesting and impressive, when the children will render a suitable programme, and will also present a card with white flower to their mothers. At the evening service the opportunity will be given to the congregation to receive Mother’s Day cards with the flowers to present to mothers. All are heartily invited to these special services. Tomorrow the Anglican Bible Classes

of New Zealand launch their youth campaign in a great service in Wellington, when Bishop Holland will commission the teams, including one from Masterton. At St. Matthew’s tomorrow evening the vicar will speak on the campaign. The Masterton Methodist Church celebrates its anniversary on Sunday by two special services, to be conducted by the Rev F. J. Parker. Extra music will be a feature at both services. At the morning service Miss Alma Davies will render the solo “Mother” in memory of Mother’s Day, and all are asked to wear a white flower in memory of Mother. The Junior Choir will sing “Hail Him,” “I Was Glad,” and “Heralds of Jesus.” The evening service will also be fully choral, the sacred duet, "O Divine Redeemer” being rendered by Mrs G. Milne and Miss Jamieson, while the Senior Choir will sing as anthems, “Te Deum” (Jackson) and “Gloria in Excelsis” (Mozart). The Rev F. J. Parker will be, the preacher at both services, speaking on the subjects, “The Unused Wealth of the Church” and "The Challenge to the Church to Share Her Message.” The anniversary social and welcome to the new minister will take place on Monday evening.
