Mr T. Aitchison, of Masterton, will leave by the Rangitane on Wednesday next on an extended tour of Great Britain and the Continent. The Rt Rev H. St Barbe Holland, Bishop of Wellington, who received minor injuries in a motor accident near Longburn on Anzac Day, was stated last night to be progressing satisfactorily. Mr F. Beaumont Smith, until recently managing director of the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, Ltd., left Wellington for Auckland last night en route for Australia, where he will in future reside.

Mr S. G. Dailey has been appointed secretary to J. R. McKenzie, Ltd., and its associated companies. Mr Dailey was secretary to the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, Ltd., for many years.

Cabled advice announces the election of Mr J. W. Mawson, Dip.C.D., F.R.1.8.A., M.T.P.1., of Wellington, as a Fellow of the Institute of Landscape’ Architects of England. Mr Mawson is town-planning officer attached to the Department of Internal Affairs.

The Hon R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, left Wellington this afternoon to fulfil a series of engagements in the Rotorua and South Auckland districts. His programme includes public addresses at Rotorua, Morrinsvile, Ngatea, Otahuhu, Rukekohe and Pokeno. The Minister expects to return to Wellington on May 20.
