If the democracies unite, the totalitarian States cannot stand against them on the basis of their present morale, state Mr Thomas Mann, the exiled holder of the present Nobel Prize for literature, who is journeying to the United States to become naturalised there. He says democracy must learn to go in armour and predicts the downfall of Naziism within five years.
