A COSTLY BREACH. (“Times-Age” Special.) A breach in the stop bank at the back of the soldiers’ settlement at Ahiakouka, caused by the recent floods, it is stated, will cost nearly £4OO to repair. RAINFALL. During April 9.74 inches of rain fell in Greytown, the highest fall being 2.12 inches on April 14. In April 1937 the fall was 2.19 inches. VITAL STATISTICS. In Greytown in April 1 birth, 3 deaths and 1 marriage were registered.
