THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM MATCH AGAINST WORCESTER. HOME ELEWN FOLLOWS ON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Recd This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, May 2. The match between the Australian eleven and the Worcester team was continued today. The Australian innings closed for 541. Worcester’s first innings produced 268. Following on the home team had lost 1 wicket for 74 when stumps were drawn on the day. McCORMACK NO BALLED 29 TIMES The weather was cold, damp and murky for the commencement of play. Light rain was falling when McCormick opened bowling against Worcester. He sent down seven no balls, one of which struck Bull on the forehead. He retired bleeding profusely. Laughter and shouts accompanied McCormick’s second over. After he had been no-balled for the sixth time, McCormick despairingly tried to get into his stride, but was no-balled three more times. The Australian bowlers were handicapped by a greasy ball. Lyttelton and Cooper batted admirably, Lyttelton hitting O’Reilly for three 4's in one over, and reaching 50 after 66 minutes’ batting. He was out with the next ball. Though increasing his tally of noballs to 24 after lunch McCormick was more impressive and had two chances missed off him. Cooper was sound. The young professional batted for two hours and hit seven 4’s. With the dismissal of Lyttelton and Cooper, there was a sharp decline in the quality of the batting. Fleetwood-Smith frequently tied up the batsmen. Bull pluckily reappeared with his forehead bandaged, having had three stitches inserted, and offered the only serious opposition among the remainder of the Worcestershire men. Bull was severe on Fleetwood-Smith, who, between lunch and tea, bowled unchanged and took 6 wickets for 62 runs. He carried on further, half an hour after the tea adjournment until the innings closed after 220 minutes’ play. Feetwood-Smith was punished by Lyttelton, Cooper and Bull, but he had the other batsmen in all sorts of trouble, and finished with a fine average. When Worcester followed on, sixtyfive minutes remained for play. McCormick after- opening with two maidens was no-balled twice in the third over, twice in the fourth over, and again in the fifth over, making twentynine no-balls today. Lyttelton and Bull scored boundaries from each of the no-balls in the second innings. Lyttelton, after fearless hitting played a hesitant stroke, and was easily caught at square leg.
