OBITUARY

MRS E. J. HAYES. The death occurred at her residence, Michael Dixon Street, Masterton, yesterday, of Mrs E. J. Hayes, -wife of Mr Charles Hayes. Mrs Hayes, who was born in Masterton 57 years ago, was the eldest daughter of the late Mr’ and Mrs John Butcher, old settlers of Masterton. She had been in indifferent health for some time past. Besides a husband she leaves two sons (Messrs A. C. Hayes, Carrington, and J. H. Hayes, Kaituna), one daughter, Mrs J. Wall (Masterton), a brother (Mr Fred. Butcher) and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon, leaving the residence, Michael Dixon Street, at 2 p.m. for the Masterton cemetery.
