OBITUARY
MRS ELIZABETH ALLAN. The many friends of Mrs Elizabeth Allan will learn with deep regret of her death, which occurred yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs W. F. Davis GofT, Lansdowne. The late Mrs Allan, who was 89 years of age, was in comparatively good health until Saturday. She was of a bright and cheerful disposition, and in spite of her age, took a lively interest in current affairs, and spent much of her time knitting and walking. With her husband, the late Mr Alexander Allan, Mrs Allan came to New Zealand in the ship Loch Doon in 1881, settling in Wallaceville. For the last few years she had resided with her daughter in Lansdowne. Her husband predeceased her 31 years ago, and she is survived by one son, Mr John Allan, Hikorangi, and six daughters, Mesdames F. Maby, Palmerston North, J. Young, Inglewood, W. Burrel, Otorohanga, W. F. Davis Goff, Masterton, A. Rowley, Lower Hutt, and W. Gray, Lower Hutt. There are 33 grandchildren and 17 The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the residence of her daughter, Second Street, Lansdowne, at 11.15 a.m., and arriving at Upper Hutt about 1.30 p.m., en route to the Wallaceville Cemetery.
