Smith left his house early one morning with two retrievers and a gun, determined to try his ’prentice hand on the ground game. Half-an-hour later he returned. “Hello,” said his wife in surprise, “have you come back for some more ammunition’?’ “No,” replied Smith ruefully, “more dogs.”
