Raising Fat Lambs.

The object of the fat lamb raiser should be to produce a lamb with a maximum of flesh and a minimum of waste, such as bone and surplus fat, states an authority. There was a difference in the fleshing of various types and breeds of sheep, and in any one breed would be found some animals firmly fleshed and others with surplus fat. The type of fleshing was due to a large extent to the type of country on which the animals were run, but even on areas that produced soft carcasses there were ways of effecting improvements, such as by supplementary feeding, which also was of value in reducing worm infestation.
