THE TEES DISPUTE
SETTLEMENT REACHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association, CHRISTCHURCH, May 1. After being held up at Lyttelton for a week because of disputes with the crew, the steamer Tees sailed last night for the Chatham Islands. Mr P. F. Walsh, president of the Seamen’s Federation, arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning, and addressed a meeting of seamen. Later he conferred with the agents for the Tees, W. W. Toy and Co., and a settlement said to be satisfactory to both sides was made. The new crew, which included some members of the former crew, began work aboard the vessel at 9 a.m., and the Tees sailed at 7.15 p.m.
