INDOOR BOWLS
MASTERTON CLUB. OPENING OF SEASON. The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club commenced the season with a rinks competition last week and some interesting games resulted. The following are the results of last week’s games, the skips names only being mentioned: —L. Rott 24, beat W. Hendry 18; Simpson 26, beat Pickering 17; Fenton 22, beat Dixon 14; Davies 21, beat C. Roff 17; Shearer 18, beat Finlayson 9; Davies 14, beat Pickering 11; Simpson 16, beat L. Roff 13; Hendry 18, beat Dixon 11; Fenton 18, beat Finlayson 13; Shearer 21, beat C. Roff 20. Only Thursday of the usual nights is available this week, but teams if they wish may play on Fridays after notifying the secretary. The following are the games arranged for this week: Thursday. 7 p.m., No. 1, Davies v. Shearer; No. 2, Dixon v. Finlayson. 8.30: p.m., No. 1, C. Roff v. Simpson; No. 2, Fenton v. L. Roff. All players must remember their respective skips and be punctual for their games. Any--'■one wishing to join now should see the secretary at the Foresters’ Hall on Thursday evening.
