rototawat’golf club. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Rototawai Golf Club, after having been postponed from last week, was opened on Saturday in fine weather, the links being in good order. The competition for the Bidwill Memorial Cup resulted:—Mrs Parker, 69 net score; Mr B. Feast, 70; Mr G. O’Neale, 71; Mrs D. C. Collins, 74; Mr P. Lang, 74; Mr W. G. Russell, 77. Mr J. W. Card, vice-president, congratulated the winner and called upon Mrs J. C. Bid will to present the cup. FEATHERSTON GOLF CLUB. The medal round played at Gum Grove on Saturday was won by J. McCallum, 89, 14, 75 net. The next best scores were H. Prendergast, 97, 21, 76; D. Collyson, 100, 24, 76. HEAVY RAINFALL. April was the wettest month experienced for several years, 10 inches of rain being recorded. For the corresponding month last year only 2 inches were registered. ' THE SHOOTING SEASON. At an early hour this morning Featherston residents were awakened by explosions which came from the guns at the Wairarapa Lake. Game is reported to be plentiful and good bags are anticipated. MOTOR COLLISION. A collision occurred on Friday night at the corner of Hickson and Fitzherbert streets where an Oldsmobile coupe collided with a Ford truck. The occupants escaped unhurt, and the vehicles were only slightly damaged. PERSONAL. Mrs A. Donald and Miss Card have returned from spending a few days in Wellington. Mrs Algar Williams, Mrs and Miss B’.oxam, Mrs Sharp, Mrs Kilsby and Mrs K. Allen were the Featherston visitors at the Le Grove—Durrad wedding.
