W.D.F.U. ANNUAL MEETING (“Times-Age” Special) At the annual meeting of the Eketahuna branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, the president (Miss A. Anderson), the vicepresidents (with the addition of Mrs Turner), the secretary (Mrs Brittain), and treasurer (Miss Nancy Smith) were all re-elected. Interesting addresses were given by Miss Anderson (“Pioneer Women”) and Miss Heckler (Gardening). Votes of thanks being accorded to both speakers. FOOTBALL CLUB The following officers were elected at the annual meeting the Old Boys’ Football Club:—Patron, Mr S. J. O’Regan; president, Mr J. Waters; vice-president, Mr E. Duffy; secretary and treasurer, Mr O. Reynolds; club captain, Mr H. Rogers; coach, J. Waters; committee, Messrs D. Fallaver, F. Sigvertsen to act with other, officers; selectors, captain and coach. The club has decided to enter a senior and a third-grade team in the Bush Rugby Union competitions. PIG RECORDING CLUB An effort is being made to form a pig recording club at Nireaha. HOCKEY AT NIREAHA At the annual meeting of the Nireaha Ladies’ Hockey Club Mr S. R. Blewett was elected patron, Mr R. Farrow president, Miss B. Petersen and Miss B. Drysdale joint secretaries, and Mr J. L. Daysh, auditor Subscriptions were fixed at 2s 6d. The club will compete at the tournament to be held at Woodville. DAIRY COMPANY SEASON The Nireaha Dairy Company has experienced a good season, though not equal to last season. About 30 cheeses are being made daily, the milk supply lately having shown a substantial decrease.
