APPRECIATION OF HOSPITALITY IN N.S.W. HON W. PERRY’S FAREWELL MESSAGE LETTERS FROM CONTINGENT AT SEA (Recd This Day, 9.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 30. Before leaving by the Awatea last night, the Hon W. Perry issued a message of appreciation and thanks to the Government, the Lord Mayor of Sydney, and the people of New South Wales on behalf of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers. Mr Perry said: “Everything that could have been done to make our stay pleasurable was done.”

Colonel Gambrill and Lieut-Colonel Lyons, on behalf of the men on the Maunganui and Monowai, respectively, also wrote to the Lord Mayor, expressing appreciation of the hospitality given to members of the contingent by the people of Sydney.
