FOOTBALL
WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union Management Committee was held at Carterton last evening, Mr H. A. McPhee presiding. All members were present with the exception of Messrs K. Reid, E. B. Booth and Q. Donald. Prior to commencing business a vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of the late Mr S. F. Wilson, of Christchurch.
Accounts amounting to £lB 18s 6d were passed for payment. Donations were acknowledged with thanks from Messrs J. F. Thompson, G. D. Wilson and S. Gilman. F. Morton’s application to be regraded as junior was declined. A letter was received from the Featherston Football Club in reference to entering a junior team for competition. As the fixtures had been drawn up it was decided that no further entries be received.
Transfers were granted as follow:— E. Meurk, Masterton. to Old Boys; W. Workman, Greytown to Masterton (subject to clearance); K. Braggins, K. Walker, M. Hurley and R. Playle, Dalefield to Carterton; W. Nimot and H. Sullivan, Carterton to Dalefield (subject to clearance). K. Ticehurst was regraded as a junior and his transfer from Dalefield to Carterton granted; D. Alexander, Greytown to Carterton; W. Haste and A. Deller, Dalefield to Carterton; K. Nix, Carterton to Greytown. The weighing of the lower grade teams is to be carried out by Messrs N. G. Rayner, S. Henson, L. Pearson (Masterton), M. Parker (Greytown), and C. A. Gray (Carterton). It was decided that players passes be issued for the admission of players to grounds in senior and junior grades when they are engaged in a match.
