FATAL ACCIDENT

CONTRACTOR KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE. April 29. A fatal accident occurred this afternoon when Mr Henry Leslie Thoreson, a contractor for the Dannevirke Borough Council, was killed when tipping spoil from the Yortt Street road works into the dump in Hospital Road. Mr Thoreson left Yortt Street at 2.30 p.m. with a load of 21- yards of spoil and was discovered later by Mr W. Mclntosh with his head jammed between the tip and the back of the lorry. Dr. W. Beedie was summoned, but found Mr Thoreson dead. Mr Thoreson leaves a wife but no children.
