POLO IN AUSTRALIA

TOWN AND COUNTRY CUP FINAL SYDNEY, April 29. The Victoria Hunt Club defeated Rovers by 9 goals to 6| in the final of the Town and Country Cup polo tournament. NEW ZEALAND PONIES PRICES FAIL TO REALISE EXPECTATIONS SYDNEY, April 29. The New Zealand polo representatives did not get the prices they anticipated at the sale of polo ponies in Sydney today, possibly because of the fact that of the eight submitted two were lame and two had severe colds. There was also an impression that, although speedy enough, the ponies would not stand up to a severe tournament. MacKenzie got 120 guineas for Patience, and 100 guineas for Kino. B. O’Grady obtained 130 guineas for Storey. On the other hand Queensland ponies were in demand, one bringing 220 and another 200 guineas.
