HOLIDAYS WITH PAY
RECOMMENDED IN BRITAIN BY COMMITTEE. ULTIMATE LEGISLATION PROPOSED. (Recd This Day, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, April 28. A Government committee on holidays with pay recommends at least a week for industrial and kindred workers, by voluntary arrangement until 1940-41, when legislation will be suggested for industry generally based on the results of the probationary period. The committee recommends a fortnight’s holiday with pay for domestic workers and favours a fixed Easter.
