WEDDINGS
PETERSEN—McHARDY. The wedding took place on a recent evening at the Methodist Church, Greytown, of Edna Mary, younger daughter of Mi - and Mrs Otto Petersen, Greytown, and John William, younger son of the late Mr and Mrs A. G. McHardy, formerly of Morison’s Bush. The Rev. W. Falkingham performed the ceremony. The bride, escorted by her brother, Mr J. Petersen, wore a gown of marina blue lace over satin. A row of tiny buttons fastened the frock at the back from the neck to the waistline, and the long sleeves were pointed over her hands. A silver girdle matched her silver shoes, and her headdress was of blue flowers and tulle. She carried a shower bouquet of pale blue hydrangeas and maidenhair fern. The bride's sister, Mrs R. Jensen, Featherston, was matron of honour. Her gown was of pink silk, patterned with a floral design, and she wore a halo of pink flowers to match the armsheaf she carried.
Mr Peter McHardy was best man. A reception was held in the Masonic Hall, where the bride’s. parents, assisted by the bridegroom’s sister, received the guests. When Mr and Mrs J. W. McHardy left by car for the north the bride was wearing a frock of blue figured silk, with a navy swagger coat. Her hat, shoes, gloves and handbag were also in navy. TAYLOR—GEDDES. At St. Luke’s Church, Remuera, Auckland, at Easter, Elizabeth (Pat) daughter of the late Mr and Mrs R. J. Geddes, of Belfast, Ireland, was married to Richard Trevor Godfrey, youngest son of Mr and Mrs G. Godfrey Taylor, of Pahiatua. The bride was charmingly attired in a beautiful gown of Duchess blue georgette with hat of blue and gold lace, gold shoes, and bouquet in toning shades. The bridesmaid, Miss Joyce Lloyd, of Auckland, was gowned in primrose and gold with hat to match, and shoes of gold, with bouquet in autumn shades. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Herbert Whitworth, of Auckland. Guests at the reception, which was held in the Tavern Tearooms, Queen Street, were received by Miss Nancy Thompson, who wore a French model navy gown and carried a bouquet of scalet zinnias and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom’s mother wore wedgewood blue lace with velvet coatee to tone, and shoulder spray of autumn tinted flowers. Miss Marjorie Taylor, sister of the bridegroom, was dressed in blue tafleta with coatee of darker shade and gold shoes. Mr and Mrs Taylor will reside in Pahiatua.
