GREYTOWN

ST. LUKE'S CHURCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the parishioners of St. Luke’s Church the election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Vicar’s warden, Mr I. Blissett; people's warden, Mr W. Gates; vestry, Messrs H. Trotman, R. W. Tate, W. J. Knell, D. C. Fairbrother, W. Tully, A. D. Burch, F. W. Wood, W. H. Day, A. York, Miss Stephens; auditor, Mr H. Walden; synod representative, Mr R. W. Tate; hall committee, Mr Gates and Mesdames Balfour and Graham. The offertories during the year amounted to £159. The Ladies’ Guild balance sheet showed a credit balance of £B5, after £45 had been donated to the vicarage fund and other payments totalling over £23 made. The vicar (Canon J. H. Sykes) extended to Mr W. H. Day, who will leave shortly on a visit to England, best wishes for an enjoyable trip. Mr Day left England 61 years ago and this will be his first visit to the land of his birth. FIRE BRIGADE. The following officers have been elected in connection with the Greytown Fire Brigade for the ensuing year:—Superintendent, W. Gates; deputy- superintendent, J. Wood; foreman, J. Workman; station officer, W. Wood; secretary, H. G. Carter; treasurer, W. Wood; first motorman, B. Workman. GREYTOWN TRUST LANDS TRUST Messrs D. P. Loasby and H. J. Nightingale have been re-elected, unopposed, members of the Greytown Trust Lands Trust. PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs W. G. K. Wiggins and Mr J. W. Barnard, who have been touring the South Island for the past month, expect to return towards the end of next week.
