CLAY BIRD SHOOTING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The South Wairarapa Gun Club will hold a special shooting match on Wednesday, May 4, at the Lake Ferry. Substantial prizes will be given and the shoot will be conducted under New Zealand Gun Club rules. Particulars will be advertised. HUME.MEMORIAL CUP. Owing to the unfavourable weather the first round for the Hume Memorial Cup was not played on Saturday. INSTITUTE BALL. At a meeting of the committee of the local Women’s Institute it was decided to hold the annual ball on Wednesday, June 1. A first-class orchestra has been engaged. Full particulars will appear later. PERSONAL. Mrs Stewart, who has been visiting relatives in this district, has returned to her home at Kaikoura. Mrs Geo. Busch is staying with her daughter, Mrs Evans, at Wellington. Mr Douglas Kitney, who has been spending his annual leave in the Waikato district, has returned home.
