CARTERTON

BUILDING SOCIETY. A meeting of shareholders of the Wairarapa Terminating Building Society was held at Carterton last evening when Mr L. H. Smart, chairman of directors, presided. Two appropriations of £6OO were offered, the first by ballot and the second by tender. Mrs Trustrum, of Petone, and formerly of Featherston, was successful in drawing the £6OO in ballot, and for the £6OO by tender Mr C. M. Woodbury offered £6O for £3OO only,! and was declared entitled to that amount. Another ballot was held for the £3OO balance, and Mr E. A. Findlay, of Martinborough, was successful. As Mr Findlay is the holder of four shares, he is entitled to take a' further £3OO after the next sale is held. - A meeting of directors was afterwards held and it was decided that the annual meeting of the Society be held on May 25. An appropriation of £6OO will be offered by tender at this meeting.
