The request made by the naval authorities that the figurehead which was included in the Seddon-Johnson estate taken over as a bequest by the Rotorua Borough Council should be lent to the naval base at Auckland has been acceded to by the council, and the figurehead has now been forwarded to the base. Although the history of the figurehead is not known in Rotorua it is understood that it was picked up on the Otaki beach, near Wellington, many years ago, and was later acquired by the SeddonJohnson family.
