WAR LEADER PASSES

DEATH OF SIR TALBOT HOBBS. SYDNEY, April 26. The death of Lieutenant-General Sir Talbot Hobbs, referred to in the London Anzac message, occurred on Friday at sea when he was en route to attend the unveiling of the VillersBretonneux Memorial. His age was 74 years. He commanded the Australian Fifth Division in 1917 and later succeeded General Sir John Monash as commander of the Australian Army Corps.
