TABLE TENNIS
♦ ” KURIPUNI METHODIST CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. The annual meeting of the Kuripuni Methodist Table Tennis Club was held in the church vestry last evening, when an encouraging report of an increased membership and a satisfactory financial statement was given. A welcome was extended to the new minister, the Rev. C. H. Skuse from the club by Mr E. Jones, the secretary. Mr Skuse expressed his appreciation of the welcome. The club will open its year by holding a combined doubles Yankee tournament on Monday next, May 2, at 7.30 a.m. Club fees were fixed at 5s for seniors (16 years and over), and 2s 6d for juniors, while visitors will pay 6d. The election of officers was as follows:—Patron, the Rev. F. J. Parker; president, the Rev. C. H. Skuse; vicepresidents, Mrs I. Wright, Miss C. McKenzie and Mr H. Volheim; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Jones; club captain, Mr H. Volheim; ladder stewards, Messrs H. Volheim and A. J. Wise; social convenor. Miss N. Jones; committee, Misses Edge, N. Jones and H. Rigg and Messrs C. H. Skuse, A. Jones, H. Volheim and A. J. Wise. Several sets of tennis played in the social hall followed by refreshments brought a successful gathering to an end.
