SANDY HERD’S REMARKABLE ROUND. ON EVE OF SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY. LONDON, April 22. On the eve of his seventieth birthday, Sandy Herd returned a remarkable 67 in the second round, making his aggregate score -142, in the Silver King professional golf tournament at Moor Park. The leaders in the tournament are: Perry 135, Burton 135, Cotton 137, Adams 137, E. E. Whitcombe 137. Herd reached the turn in 30, a score which had not previously been accomplished, but his homeward half was marred by a 7 at the sixteenth. Perry took 64 in his second round, a course record. The final two rounds will be played today.
