ROAD CYCLING
WAIRARAPA CLUB’S RACE. The Wairarapa Amateur Cycling Club held its weekly race despite unfavourable weather, on Saturday. Thirteen starters set out on the course from Church Street to Te Whiti school and back. J. Brader followed up his second in the last race by winning by a length from R. Copp, M. Graham a similar distance back. Then came Woollet, Harman, Clarke, Dykes, B. Dooling, Lefert, McAliece, M. Dooling and Asplet in that order. S. Brannigan had the misfortune to fall at Wardell’s Bridge on the return journey. The result is as follows: —J. Brader, 1; R. Copp, 2; M. Graham, 3. Fastest time: —L. Clark, 1; K. Woollet, 2; C. Dykes, 3. This was the first race for the points prizes. After the race Mrs Lefort hospitably entertained the riders at afternoon tea.
