LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MEETING IN MASTERTON. The League of Mothers’ meeting yesterday was held in the Presbyterian Hall, Mrs R. H. Every presiding. Apologies were received from Mesdames Harris, McPherson, Boyne, Stent, K. Brazendale, Beaven, Sorensen and N. F. Every. The members stood in silence for a few moments out of respect to the memory of Mrs W. S. King. Mrs Every welcomed Mesdames Rollings and Millward, Wellington members. Mrs Millward rendered much appreciated solos, the accompaniments being played by Mrs D. G. Johnston. A very interesting talk was given by Mrs Rollings on “A Woman’s Sphere and Influence.” The thought for the month was given by Mrs Williams. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses, Mesdames Gordon, Tyler, Peters, Ingley, Bond, Hansen, Sewell and Berry.

The singing of the National Anthem brought the meeting to a close.
