Mere Annoyance. —The hotel guest was thoroughly annoyed. People were running backwards and forwards along the corridor outside his room, making a terrible noise. So he took up. the telephone and called up the manager’s office. “I can’t get to sleep with all this noise going on,” he complained, angrily. “I’m sorry, sir,” said the voice of a clerk, “but I’m afraid we can’t control the movements of the fire brigade.”
