WAIRARAPA CLUB. DRAW FOR TOMORROW. Excellent nominations have been received by the Wairarapa Coursing Club for its big meeting to be held on Saturday. Two events will be decided, an open stake for the Bradbury Trophy and a maiden stake for the Grimwood Challenge Cup. For the first time in the history of the club, both events have been oversubscribed, which is an indication of .the interest now being taken in the sport. Visiting owners include Mr J. Hannan, Matiere. with Silver Note and Welcome Footsteps; Mr J. Prout, Napier, with White Gold; Mr J. Kinjnmont, Hastings, with Desiree and Lucky Linda; Mr L. B. Langoad, Hastings, with Lady Boston; Mr J. E. Lund, Gisborne, with Golden Ranch; Mr A. Nicol, Bay View, with Scotland’s Pride: Mr A. Beally, Dannevirke, with Puketoi Magic; Mr J. Riding, Wanganui, with Mosquito Boy; Mr J. McGrath and Mr A. La Roche, Wellington, with Ace Pot, Ace of Diamonds and On Parade. Several of these dogs were winners at the recent “Tin Hare” meeting held at Napier, and in their present form will no doubt full} 7 extend the local dogs. Given fine weather, coursing of the highest standard should be witnessed, and patrons are assured of an exciting afternoon’s sport. The following are the officials for the day:—Judge, Mr S. D. Geary; slipper, Mr W. Buick; slip steward, Mr D. Leete; hare steward, Mr H. Berney; call steward, Mr D. Grimwood. The following is the draw for the Grimwood Challenge Cup, 16 dog limit: Ace Pot meets Jeanee; Golden Ranch meets Baker Boy; Scotland's Pride meets British Pride; Helen Rufus meets Lady.. Boston; Gay Terms meets Flying Veil; Bonnie Lass meets White Gold; Lucky Linda meets Ace of Diamonds; Silver Note meets Desire.
For the Bradbury Trophy, 8 dog limit, the draw is as follows: —Puketoi Magic meets The Slam; Welcome Footsteps meets Mosquito Boy; On Parade meets Dainty Footsteps; Rereatu meets Lady Hurley.
