ELECTRIC POWER
MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD (“Times-Age” Special) The chairman, Mr A. C. Pearce, presided at the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board, held at Carterton yesterday. Others present were: —Messrs. S. Dalgleish, W. A. Tate, W. B. Tait, C. R. Holmes, H. P. Hugo, R. J. King, J. W. Colquhoun. Authority ws given to proceed with the Upper Rangitumau and Miki Miki extensions. The secretary-manager, Mr G. Brown, said that the Loans Board had approved of the raising of the necessary loans. If the written consent of three-fourth of the ratepayers in the areas could be obtained the loans money could be anticipated and the work put in hand almost immediately. He did not anticipate any objections but if there were, a poll would have to be : taken, which would mean a delay of six or seven weeks.
