Assistance granted in set conditions and under official administration has its limitations. A proportion of the men who jmrved in the Great War have as a result of their military service exceptional needs best appreciated and relieved b.V those who are able to deal with them from a standpoint ol sympathetic ii nderst aml i ng. The Itetiirned Soldiers’Association, which administers capably and economically the funds derived from the sale of poppies, bears witness to the laid that the need of special assistance to some returned soldiers ami their dependants, pa rt ie il la rl.v during the winter months, is as great ns ever. That being so. il need not he doubted that the ready and generous response eustomarilv made in the past to the appeal ol the poppy nelleis will be repeated tomorrow.
