I.NTER=DOMIN!ON CONTESTS MEETING AT ADDINGTON. NEW ZEALAND HORSES IN THE LEAD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 20. The inter-Dominion championship trotting meeting, the first of its kind held in New Zealand, opened at Addington today, in fine weather. The track was in good order. There was a large attendance including a delegation representing West Australia, Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.

The stakes for the four days total £19,275. Of this amount £12,750 will be distributed among the inter-Dom-inion championship events. There will be three heats on the first, second and third days, and the grand final will be run on the fourth day. The schedule of points will govern the entry of horses to the grand final. The winner of each heat will be awarded G points, the second horse 2J points and third horse 1 point. Horses doing the fastest net time in each heat will receive 21 points. The committee reserves the right to invite any of the starters in the qualifying events to participate in the grand final. The points for placed the horses and one doing the fastest time in the grand final are as follows: —Winner, 7 points; second, 2J points, third, 1 point; fastest net time, 3 points. The horse which gains the highest aggregate of points in the four championship events will be awarded the championship. Wins for Parisienne, Plutus and Supertax, all New Zealand horses, were the result of the heats of the first qualifying event for the inter-Domin-ion trotting championship.
