CHAMPION TROTTERS
MEETING AT ADDINGTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The inter-Dominion championship trotting meeting, the first of its kind held in New Zealand, opened at Addington today, in Mull threatening weather. The track when the racing commenced was in good order. There is a large attendance including a delegation representing West Australia, Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales. The stakes for the four days total £19,275. Of this amount £12,750 will be distributed among the inter-Dom-inion championship events. There will be three heats on the first, second and third days, and the grand final will be run on the fourth day. The schedule of points will govern the entry of horses to the grand final. The winner of each heat will be awarded G points, the second horse 21 points and third horse 1 point. Horses doing the fastest net time in each heat will receive 2J points. The comrriittee reserves the right to invite any of the starters in the qualifying events to participate in the grand final. The points for placed the horses and one doing the fastest time in the grand final are as follows: —Winner, 7 points; 2l points, third, 1 point; fastest net time, 3 points. The horse which gains the highest aggregate of points in the Jour championship events will be awarded the championship. Results: — ROBERT C. SIMPSON HANDICAP. Unhoppled trotters, 3.34 class, 11m. 1/1 Peggotty, 36yds. (C. Behrns) 1 4/5 Prince Harvester, scr. (M. Holmes) 2 6/9 Aristotle (Motz) 3 Scratched: Captain Bolt. Won by two lengths. Time, 3.21. Mute finished third but was disqualified for galloping twice. Third place was awarded to Aristotle. WAYVILLE HANDICAP. 3.28 class. 11 miles. 12/13 Wee Wrack scr. (J. Bell) .... 1 11/11 Twenty Grand (J. Bryce, jun.) 2 19/18 Pola Negri,, scr (S. A. Edwards) 3 All started. Wee Wrack won by two lengths, with the third horse a length away. Time, 3.19. INTER-DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP. FIRST QUALIFYING EVENT, Um. ,First Heat. 3/3 Pariesienne, 12yds (R. B. Berry) 1 13/13 Evicus, 12yds (R. Young)' .... 2 1/1 King’s Play, 12yds (M. Stewart) 3 All started. Pariesienne won by two lengths with King’s Play 11 lengths away. Time, 2.44 3-5.
