MURDER CHARGE

AGAINST YOUNG WOMAN. DEATH OF AN INFANT. (By Telegraph—Press Association). DARGAVILLE, April 19. Following two days’ investigations by Detectives J. B. Finlay and G. Miller and Sergeant F. Culloty into the discovery at Aratapu on Good Friday of a child, aged about six months, an arrest of a single European girl was made at Dargaville about noon yesterday. In the Magistrate’s Court this morning, Hazel Frances Evans, single, aged 21 years, was charged that on April 3 at Aratapu she murdered an infant child, Alma Rosie Evans.

On the application of Detective Finlay, accused was remanded to appear at Auckland on April 27.
