THE REGENT.
“THE AWFUL TRUTH.” Without doubt one of the best modern comedies coming from American studios for a long time, “The Awful Truth” is showing at the Regent Theatre. Irene Dunne once "went wild” as Theodora, and in this Columbia picture an extraordinarily successful adaptation by Vina Delmar of a play by Arthur Richman, she is every bit as full of joyous nonsense as she was in “Theodora Goes Wild.” With her are Cary Grant and Ralph Bellamy. The attractive, dignified Miss Dunne joins with Cary Grant in uttering “awful truths” in the heartiest manner. “The Awful Truth” has been made for laughter. The shorts are also outstanding, including two colour subjects, a Rhapsody and Cartoon, a sports thrill and latest overseas news. Final screening of “The Awful Truth” is on Thursday night. THE WEINTRAUBS. TO APPEAR ON FRIDAY. The famous Weintraubs will appear on Friday at the Regent Theatre in their world famous music programme.
