CROSSING FATALITY

MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. COLLISION WITH TRAIN; By Telegraph.—Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 15. A fatal railway crossing accident occurred late on Thursday afternoon near Ohinewai when a motor cyclist was struck by a special express train carrying tourists from the Empress of Britain. The victim was Samuel Willis, aged 48, a married man with three children.

The train reached the crossing shortly before 5.30 p.m. After striking the motor-cyclist with great force it threw him clear. His machine was carried some distance and completely wrecked. Mr Willis was apparently killed instantly.
